Legs Against Arms

Legs Against Arms formed in December of 2007 amid the aftermath of a dismal realization that corporate life is an empty joke. Creativity born from self-sabotage.
Daniel Dillon and Bruce Ewing are two distinct singer/songwriters with just enough differences to make things interesting. Rounding out the group are Michael Dillon on bass and Alex Martinez on drums. Together they form a sound that can be quiet and revealing or expansive and schizophrenic, as long as pop sensibilities are at the foundation.
They have played several notable Austin venues including Emos, The Mohawk and Scoot Inn, and opened for several well known Austin acts as well as expanding into surrounding cities like San Antonio and Dallas with a strong recurring fan base. In 2008 they played RioFest, a heavily trafficked South Texas festival, and in recent months have been excited to align their music with beneficial causes like those of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Their songs have received consistent airplay from local radio stations like 101X (“The Next Big Thing”), KVRX and internet radio like WOXY.
Their live shows are highly energized – combining jumps, claps, horns and harmonies into a dynamic set that intertwines elements of indie folk, dance pop, jazz and expansive post-rock. All four members are multi-instrumentalists, working to keep the audience buoyant and engaged through diverse instrument rotation and a strong dual-front man combination.
In the summer of 2009 they released their first 5 song EP, entitled Come On Lets Disappear. Recorded by Daniel Hoxmeier of Oh No Oh My and fully self-produced, their single The Applicant placed 5th place in the 2009 Austin Chronicle’s Sound Wars.
