Sounds Under Radio

“I don’t know who these Sounds Under Radio folk are trying to fool, but that is a big-time rock ‘n’ roll band masquerading as some unsigned indie-emo whatsits,” -Entertainment Weekly

In rock music, great power can be found in contrast, in opposites. It’s a musical truth that the members of Sounds Under Radio know well. That contrast—between light and dark, guarded and vulnerable, specific and vague—this is what the songs on the band’s debut album, Cinematica, are built upon. On this, their first full length release, Sounds Under Radio is stepping out of the shadows, and bringing their knack for dynamics and a penchant for building stadium sized rock landscapes to an even bigger stage… this is Austin Tx style Brit rock. After a brief stint on EPIC Records Sounds Under Radio grew unhappy with the relationship and took back their indie reigns to release ‘Cinematica’ on their own… “the right, real
and independent way we had always envisioned when recording that record.” comments vocalist Lang Freeman.

Alongside their placement in the ‘Spider Man 3’ soundtrack, Sounds Under Radio have also had their music featured in the Hollywood release ‘War Games 2,’ MTV’s ‘The Real World,’ CNBC’s ‘American Made’ and have also had their music licensed by Dell Computers, AMD and just recently in the new Universal film ‘Wolfman’. Touring, the band performs 200+ dates a year nationally and has toured with and shared the stage with the likes of Alice in Chains, Sick Puppies, Filter, RED, Ours, Needtobreathe, Blind Melon, Buffalo Tom, Ludo,
Flobots and more.

Sounds Under Radio are currently in the studio recording their sophomore release (tentatively slated to hit stores March 2010).
